A native of Tuskegee, Ala., White is one of the more recognizable figures in Jaguar basketball history. He was a four-time letter winner for the Jags from 1978-82. He was a three-time honorable mention All-American. In his sophomore season, White was named Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year and Sun Belt Conference Sophomore of the Year while leading the Jaguars to a school record 25 wins and the program’s first NIT appearance. As a senior, he was named to the all-Sun Belt team for the second time in his career. He was a four-time recipient of the SBC player of the week award during his career. He is one of only three Jaguar players to have his number retired. In 1982, he was a fourth round draft choice (86th pick overall) of the Phoenix Suns and became in second Jaguar to appear in an NBA game. He spent five seasons in the NBA with the Suns, Bucks and Clippers.
