South Alabama Athletic Hall of Fame
Hal Williams is synonymous with South Alabama Athletics as he was a native of Mobile, a 1976 graduate of South Alabama, and spent 31 years overall with South Alabama Athletics. Williams started his career as the Head Men's Golf Coach in 1988. He led the Jaguars to three Sun Belt Championships and earned 1992 Sun Belt Coach of the Year. He coached nine All-Sun Belt Conference selections, 1992 Sun Belt Academic Medallion Winner Mike Sullivan, nine Sun Belt Commissioner's List members, 15 Individual Medalists, and three NCAA Tournament individual competitors. Williams also served in roles as NCAA compliance coordinator, assistant athletic director and held his longest-tenured role as Associate Athletic Director from 2005 to 2019.
