University of South Alabama Athletics

Mission Statement 

SAAC seeks to promote the betterment of student-athletes throughout the athletics department, University campus, Mobile community, Sun Belt Conference and the National Collegiate Athletics Association. The SAAC is a student-led service organization created to provide leadership opportunities to those student-athletes who desire to create an impact beyond intercollegiate competition. The following priorities guide the formation of the SAAC and establish the Committee's purpose.

Provide a forum for student-athletes to share ideas on how to augment the student-athlete experience

B. Represent the student-athlete voice in discussions with athletics department, University and sport governing body leadership

C. Establish initiatives to encourage student-athlete participation in campus and community service

Jag Bowl

The Jag Bowl is a program designed by the SAAC that encourages community service, campus engagement, and the support of teams during their competitive seasons. A point scoring system has been devised that considers team involvement in "Jag Bowl" designated events and their community service standings at the conclusion of the year's semester.
