South Alabama Athletic Hall of Fame
A native of North Royalton, Ohio, Jennifer Krupa became just the second female golfer in South Alabama history to be inducted to the department’s Athletic Hall of Fame, joining the group at the 2011 induction ceremony.
Krupa had a stellar career during her time in Mobile as she was an Sun Belt Conference all-league selection each of her four seasons – the first player in program history to do so – and was also the first player to win individual medalist honors at the league championship event, doing so at the 1998 tournament where she fired a three-round 221 to win the event by three shots.
Krupa also became just the second USA women’s golfer to qualify for the NCAA Championships held in Bloomington, Ill., where she finished 22nd in her region as a her junior. She was one of three players in program history voted to the league’s 30th Anniversary All-Time Women’s Golf Team in 2007.
Krupa ended her senior year ranked second in the leagues with a 76.78 stroke average, a year after leading the Sun Belt in scoring average (76.69) her junior season. She tied for second at the conference championships that same season, while leading the Lady Jags to the team title. Krupa also tied for third at the conference championships as a sophomore.
Krupa capped off her Jaguar career with eight Top-10 finishes during the 1997-98 season, brining her career total to 22, which at the time ranked as the most in program history. She recorded seven Top-10 finishes during the 1996-97 season, a year after posting six as a sophomore. Krupa also became the first player in program history to earn SBC Golfer of the Week honors doing so on March 30, 1998 as a senior. First female golfer at South to record a sub-70 round, doing so in the third round of the 1996 Beacon Woods Invitational to secure medalist honors.
