Southeastern Louisiana to Host Jaguars in Midweek Contest

HAMMOND, La. - South Alabama (5-2) will visit Southeastern Louisiana (2-5) on Tuesday night in a midweek match-up with the Lions, slated for 6:00 p.m. (CT).

SERIES HISTORY
South Alabama and Southeastern Louisiana have a decorated history, with 71 games played in total between the two programs. The Jaguars lead the all-time series 45-26, and the Lions rank fourteenth in the Jags' most common opponents category. The last meeting came in 2025, where the Lions grabbed a midweek victory at Stanky, by a final score of 6-8 on April 1. A second game last season was scheduled between the two teams on May 9, but was cancelled due to inclement weather in Hammond, La. The last time the Jaguars visited Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field was in the 2024 season, where South Alabama run-ruled SLU in seven innings by a 13-1 final score.

SCOUTING THE LIONS
Southeastern Louisiana (2-5) dropped their first five straight to open the 2026 season. They matched up with a good Kent State team opening weekend at home and were swept by the Golden Flashes, before dropping a midweek to No. 20 Southern Miss. Their homestand to open the year continued when SIUE came to town this past weekend, where the Lions dropped Friday's series opener before bouncing back and taking the next two games to secure the series victory. The Jaguars come to town on Tuesday night to mark the eighth and final game of the Lion home stretch, before they take on Northwestern State this weekend in a three-game set.
