Jags' Brennon Wright Ties CRCBL On-Base Streak Record, Earns First-Team Honors

MOBILE, Ala. - Jags' INF Brennon Wright had a historic summer for the Bethesda Big Train in the Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League (CRCBL). Wright tied the league record with a 38-game on-base streak and posted a league-leading on-base percentage of .509.

The Mississippi native ranked second in batting average (.371) coming on 46 hits in a league-most 124 at-bats across the 33-game regular season. He tallied four doubles, 27 RBI, 32 walks, and stole 11 bases in 13 chances in that span.

The Bethesda Big Train clinched their third consecutive championship in the CRCBL and marked their twelfth in franchise history. Wright continued to be a weapon both at the plate and on the base paths in their five-game postseason run, recording seven more hits and three stolen bases. His postseason performance padded his overall season to make 53 hits, .379 AVG, 14 stolen bases in 16 attempts, including two multi-stolen base games, and 17 multi-hit games in 38 games played.

Wright had a season-high four-hit day in the last game of the regular season (7/22) with a double, two RBI and two runs scored in a 13-1 victory. He also posted six three-hit days to his line across the summer season.

The rising junior was named to the 2025 CRCBL First-Team, being one of 12 position players recognized. The middle-infielder represented South Alabama as a top player across the full summer season and left a massive impact tying the league on-base streak record, reaching base in every game of the season.

Wright is entering his first year at South, being a junior college transfer from Meridian Community College where he played two seasons for the Eagles with a decorated offensive resume, including a highlight game of hitting for the cycle with two stolen bases in the 2025 season.
