MOBILE, Ala. – Former Division II guard Hantz Louis-Jeune has signed with the South Alabama men's basketball team, head coach Richie Riley announced Saturday morning.
Louis-Jeune, a 6-5 guard from Lake Worth, Fla., joins the Jaguars after a standout season at Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, N.C., a member of the South Atlantic Conference (SAC). In the 2024-25 season, he averaged 13.4 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game, shooting 50.1 percent from the field and 35.4 percent from three-point range. A second-team All-SAC selection, Louis-Jeune recorded 24 double-digit scoring games, five games with 20 or more points, and two double-doubles. He helped lead the Bears to a SAC Tournament title and the program's first-ever NCAA Regional Championship title.
"Hantz is a great addition to our team—not just as a player, but as a person," Riley said. " His athleticism and defensive versatility will be a game-changer in our system. Offensively, he's a highly efficient three-level scorer. I'm incredibly excited to welcome him to our family."
Before his time at Lenoir-Rhyne, Louis-Jeune spent two seasons at Florida A&M, where he made 32 starts and totaled 273 points, 143 rebounds, and 64 assists while shooting 47.6 percent from the floor. He scored in double figures 10 times, led the Rattlers in assists in 12 games, and in blocks on eight occasions.
Louis-Jeune began his collegiate career at Northwest Kansas Technical College in Goodland, Kan. where he started 42 games over two seasons. He averaged 11.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.0 steals per game and earned National Junior College Athletic Association First-Team Academic All-American honors for the 2021–22 season.
Louis-Jeune is the sixth transfer addition for the Jaguars in the 2025 recruiting cycle. He joins fellow transfers Adam Olsen, Brian Hawthorne, Chaze Harris, Peyton Law, and Stephen Williams, as well as freshman signees Desmond Williams and Samuel Shoptaw.
