PENSACOLA, Fla. – South Alabama men's basketball will face Loyola Marymount in the Coastal Classic on Thursday, Nov. 12, at the Pensacola Bay Center in Pensacola, Fla., Russ Potts Productions, Inc. and the Pensacola Bay Center announced Tuesday.
The neutral-site contest will allow the Jaguars to compete at the site of the 2027 Sun Belt Conference Men's Basketball Championship. It will also mark the first meeting between South Alabama and Loyola Marymount in more than two decades.
"We're excited for the opportunity to play in the Coastal Classic," South Alabama head coach Richie Riley said. "Being able to play at the Pensacola Bay Center gives our guys a chance to compete at our conference tournament venue against a very good opponent. It should also be a fun opportunity for our fans to make the short trip over to Pensacola and support us."
South Alabama is coming off a 21-win campaign in 2025-26 that included the program's first postseason appearance since 2007. The Jaguars earned a berth in the NIT after finishing the regular season with a 21-10 record.
The Jaguars will take on a Loyola Marymount program out of the West Coast Conference led by head coach Stan Johnson. The matchup will bring the two programs together for the first time in more than 20 years when the Jags defeated LMU 81-80 in 2005.
Game time and broadcast information will be announced at a later date.

Tickets for the Coastal Classic will go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. CT on Friday, Aug. 28 through Ticketmaster and the Pensacola Bay Center.
South Alabama fans purchasing tickets during the presale should use promo code USAMBB. For the public on-sale, fans should use promo code USA26. Fans are encouraged to use the South Alabama promo codes when purchasing tickets so their purchases are credited toward the Jaguars' ticket allotment.
