MOBILE, Ala. — Former South Alabama Men's Basketball player Samuel Tabe has signed a professional contract to play overseas for AE Psychiko Basketball club of the Greece-Elite league in Psychiko, Greece. 

After playing his first three seasons of college basketball at Seton Hill, Tabe transferred to South Alabama and played an instrumental role in the team's success last season. The Beltsville, Md. native made 18 starts and appeared in 29 contests for the Jaguars, averaging 11.9 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game. 

In 2023-24, Tabe scored double figures in 17 out of 32 games and logged three straight games with 25 or more points. He scored the most points in a single game in head coach Richie Riley's coaching era with 35 points against Arkansas State on Feb.17 to secure the only Sun Belt Player of the Week honors for the Jaguars in 2023-24. Additionally, Tabe led the team in field goal percentage shooting 53.1 percent from the field, and surpassed 1,000 career points against Marshall last season. 

Before coming to South, Tabe averaged 16.4 points and 8.2 rebounds at Division ll  Seton Hill. Samuel finished with a 54.5% field goal percentage, nine double-doubles, and seven 20-point games in 2022-23. 

About AE Psychiko

Psychiko B.C. is a basketball club that competes in the Greece-Elite League with 16 other teams in the city of Psychiko near Athens. The Greece-Elite league is the highest-level tier of men's professional basketball competition in Greece. Psychiko B.C. finished 16-22 last season to earn 13th place in the league. Tabe is the only American player on Psychiko's roster so far.
