MOBILE, Ala. – Francois Prinsloo and Kyle Rademeyer picked up event wins as the South Alabama Track and Field program closed a strong weekend of competition at the Crimson Tide Invitational.
In the Field
Prinsloo continued his dominance in this outdoor season by unleashing a monstrous throw of 60.62 meters (198'11") to claim his third event win of this season. Sebastian Loschner finished close behind in second place with a throw of 57.27 meters (187 '10").
Rademeyer collected his third victory in the pole vault with a clearance of 5.62 meters (18 '5.25"), defeating the rest of his competitors by nearly a foot and a half.
In the triple jump, Iyana Johnson powered her way to her third Top Five finish of this outdoor season, finishing in fourth place with a jump of 12.17 meters (39 '11 ¼"). Johnson would also go on to set a new personal best in the hammer throw with a hurl of 53.98m (177'1").
Reuben Booysen had standout performances for the Jaguars in the javelin and the hammer throw. Booysen opened the competition by finishing on the podium in third place with a throw of 50.75m (166'6") before earning a personal record in the javelin with a toss of 66.09 meters (216' 10") to secure seventh place.
Caleb Mabins clawed his way to 10th place in the long jump with a leap of 6.98 meters (22 '10.75").
Tashod Wingfield placed ninth in the triple jump with a leap of 13.51 meters (44'4").
On the Track
In the women's 400-meter hurdles, Rachel Hunter posted a new personal best time of 1:01.63 to take eighth place overall.
Tia Acker grabbed a 15th-place finish out of a field of 30 runners in the 400 meters with a time of 56.76.
Bo Webb blistered to a PR time of 53.97 to earn 12th place in the 400-meter hurdles.
Amos Pkemboi led the Jaguars in the distance, finishing 13th out of 30 competitors in the 5000 meters with a time of 15:18.97.
Javon Glenn blazed to a new personal record in the 21.48 to earn 16th place overall.

South Alabama will prepare for a busy three-meet weekend. The Jags will head to California to compete in the Beach Invitational and the Bryan Clay Invitational, while also traveling down to Troy to participate in the Trojan Invitational on Thursday, April 11 through Saturday, April 13.
