NEW ORLEANS, La.- After a very strong sophomore campaign, Irene Campo was named Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Year. 

The Santander, Spain native shined in the 2024 season, as she started in all 18 matches, racking up 1393 minutes of action. Campo led the Sun Belt with 12 goals and was also second in total points with 29. Campo did a great job of pushing the tempo and finding ways to score by creating opportunities for her teammates, gathering five assists this season. The sophomore has had a string of great performances but would top them all with a two-goal and one-assist performance in a 3-1 win over ULM that helped South capture the West Division and the second seed in the Sun Belt Tournament. Campo has been on a tear in South's last five games, scoring five goals total to close out the season. 

UP NEXT

Campo and the Jags will travel to Foley on Monday where they will take on Coastal Carolina in the opening round of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament.
