FOLEY, Ala. – South Alabama Soccer prevailed over Louisiana in a shootout thriller on Monday, sending the Jags to the semifinals.
Sierra Giorgio recorded a career-high eight saves, leading the program to its sixth consecutive shutout (11th total).
KEY MOMENTS:
- After a full 90 and two ten-minute overtimes that left both teams empty-handed, the Jags and the Cajuns entered a penalty kick shootout. Jaidin Kinch subbed in as the Jags' new keeper.
- Both teams took their first three PKs, and Louisiana was up 3-1. Then, the Cajuns missed their last two, and Melina Descary and Mae Hunt tied it up for the Jags, sending the match into sudden-death PKs.
- Louisiana was up first, and Jaidin Kinch came in clutch for the Jags, blocking a shot on the bottom right of the net. Then, Andrea Iljkic came in for South, shooting a dagger into the left side of the net.

- After tonight's thrilling victory, the Jags have recorded six consecutive shutouts and 11 total, each number one shy from tying the program record.
