FOLEY, Ala. – South Alabama Soccer (10-3-4, 6-1-3) is set to play a second installment against Texas State (8-3-7, 5-1-4) in the Sun Belt Conference Championship Semifinals at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Foley Sports Tourism Complex in Foley, Ala.

SERIES HISTORY:
South Alabama is 10-1-4 overall against Texas State, their last match resulting in a nil-nil draw earlier this season on Oct. 24, 2025, at The Cage. The Jags handed the Bobcats their first and only scoreless result of the season.

SCOUTING THE JAGS:

• South Alabama heads into the match after a thriller against Louisiana on Monday. The Jags and the Ragin' Cajuns went 0-0, but South advanced due to going 4-3 in a penalty kick shootout-turned-sudden-death. Andrea Iljkic sent in the decider, and Jaidin Kinch made a sudden-death stop to secure the Jags' advancement.
• The Jags are currently ranked nationally in shutout percentage (7th, .647) and goals-against average (22nd, .639).
• Sierra Giorgio recorded a career-high eight saves on Monday, also ranking nationally in save percentage (9th, .867), goals against average (15th, .559) and shutouts (16th, 9).

SCOUTING THE BOBCATS:

• Texas State enters the match after facing a similar situation as the Jags, drawing 1-1 with James Madison but advancing by winning a PK shootout. The Bobcats have not won a game since they defeated Southern Miss on Oct. 18.
• The Bobcats rank nationally in shot accuracy (9th, .536), assists per game (16th, 2.33), points per game (16th, 6.78) and scoring offense (21st, 2.22).
• Mady Soumare leads the Bobcats offensively with six goals, three assists and 22 shots on goal.
