MOBILE, Ala. | The South Alabama men's basketball team (8-12, 2-6 SBC) returns home for a pair of games this week, looking to get back in the win column.
 
In the first game, the Jaguars welcome the Old Dominion Monarchs (11-9, 3-5 SBC) to Mobile on Thursday. The Monarchs are coming off a 72-58 defeat at the hands of App State. Next, the Troy Trojans (13-8, 5-3 SBC) make their way down to the Mitchell Center on Saturday afternoon.
 
The game against Old Dominion will see the Jaguars participate in Suits and Sneakers Week, the signature initiative of the American Cancer Society and the NABC's Coaches vs. Cancer Program. The program aims to help raise awareness and encourage people to schedule regular cancer screening tests.
 
Thursday is also "Teacher Appreciation Night" at the Mitchell Center, and the first 200 teachers who present a valid teacher I.D. at the north entrance will receive a free Raising Cane's gift card.
 
On Saturday, it's Beat Troy day, and the first 250 students will receive "Beat Troy" t-shirts. Saturday's game will also feature a shoot-around for kids ages 12 and under immediately following the conclusion of the game.
 
The Jaguars are hosting their "Shooting 2 Change" game on Saturday. The statewide event focuses on spreading autism awareness and acceptance through athletics. Learn more about the event here.

• The win against Robert Morris is the only time two Jaguars have scored 20+ points in the same game this season (Moore & Samuel).
• South was picked to finish third in the Sun Belt preseason poll. The Jags finished fifth in the conference last year with a 9-7 record. 
• The Jaguars placed two players on the Preseason All-Sun Belt teams. Kevin Samuel was named to the first-team, and Greg Parham II was voted to the second team.
