MOBILE, Ala. | The South Alabama men's basketball team (3-5) travels north to take on their old rival, the UAB Blazers (6-1), at the Bartow Arena in Birmingham, Ala. Sunday afternoon.
 
The two teams were previous conference foes, but have not played each other since 2012 when the Blazers beat the Jags, 92-78. The Jaguars did win the previous matchup, 55-47, in 2011.
 
The matchup features two reigning conference players of the week. South's Isaiah Moore was named the Sun Belt Player of the Week after averaging 22.3 points during the Hostilo Hoops Community Classic, and he was named a member of the all-tournament team.
 
Jordan Walker of UAB was awarded the C-USA honor for his performance at the Sunshine Slam Beach Bracket, including a 31-point effort against Georgia in the championship game.

• Isaiah Moore was named the SBC Player of the Week on Nov. 29, the first Jaguar player to win the award this season.
• Kevin Samuel is the Division I active career leader in rebounds with 1,117.
• He is #84 on the list of all-time career rebounding leaders. He is 10 away from tying Hank Gathers at #75 and 57 rebounds away from matching Paul Milsap and entering the top-50.
• Samuel is averaging 1.9 blocks per game, good for fourth among Sun Belt players.
• He has 317 career blocked shots, which is second-highest among active players (KC Ndefo, 319).
• Moore leads the Sun Belt in assists per game (5.6). He is also second in points per game (20.3).
• Moore has led the Jaguars in scoring in seven straight games, reaching the 20-point threshold in four.
• His four 20-point outings are tied for second most among Sun Belt players.
• In the game against New Mexico, Isaiah Moore recorded 13 assists, tied for fourth-most in program history for a single game. It was also the first time a South Alabama player has recorded 10+ assists since 11/19/18.
• Owen White started his 100th career game against Alabama. He joined Kevin Samuel as the only two players on the roster to have 100+ career starts.
• This is the third straight-year the Jags will play on Dec. 4. They are 1-1 in the previous two games (W at Jacksonville State, L at Auburn).
• The Jags have won two true away competitions against the Blazers – 2/17/80 (66-65) & 2/27/88 (82-68).
• The Jaguars are currently on a four-game losing streak to the Blazers.
• South was picked to finish third in the Sun Belt preseason poll. The Jags finished fifth in the conference last year with a 9-7 record. 
• The Jaguars placed two players on the Preseason All-Sun Belt teams. Kevin Samuel was named to the first-team, and Greg Parham II was voted to the second team.
