MOBILE, Ala. | The South Alabama men's basketball team returns home to take on the nationally ranked Alabama Crimson Tide Tuesday night at the Mitchell Center. The game is scheduled to start at 9:00 p.m.
 
The Jags look to bounce back from their 80-74 defeat to New Mexico, while the Crimson Tide are trying to stay undefeated on the young season.

PREVIOUS GAME
South Alabama lost to New Mexico, 80-74. n Utah on Monday night to open their season, 89-81. Alabama defeated Liberty, 95-59.
 
THE SERIES
Alabama leads the series between the two teams, 3-1. In the last matchup, Alabama defeated South Alabama 73-68. The Jags' one victory came in the 1989 NCAA Tournament when they beat the Crimson Tide, 86-84.
 
NOTES

• The lineup that has started the previous two games (Isaiah Moore, Tyrell Jones, Greg Parham II, Owen White, Kevin Samuel) have a combined 377 career starts.
• White's next start will be number 100 for his career. He is on a streak of 54 straight starts.
• Against New Mexico, Isaiah Moore tallied 13 assists, tied for fourth all-time in school history. It was also the first time a Jaguar recorded 10+ assists since 11/19/18.
• Moore also recorded a double-double, scoring 19 points to go along with 13 assists.
• South Alabama is ranked 12^th in the country in blocked shots so far this season.
• Jamar Franklin led the Jags against Mobile with 18 points. He was joined in double-figures by four other Jaguars, including a double-double from Kevin Samuel (16 points, 12 rebounds).
• South was picked to finish third in the Sun Belt preseason poll. The Jags finished fifth in the conference last year with a 9-7 record. 
• South Alabama was the only Sun Belt team to finish last season in the top three in both scoring offense (71.5) and scoring defense (63.8).
• The Jaguars placed two players on the Preseason All-Sun Belt teams. Kevin Samuel was named to the first-team, and Greg Parham II was voted to the second-team.
• Kevin Samuel is the active leader in NCAA Division I for career rebounds with 1,066 and he holds the career blocks record at TCU (206).
• Samuel is one of three current players in the NCAA with 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds (Armando Bacot, UNC & Jayveous McKinnis, Ole Miss).
• Alabama was picked to finish fifth in the preseason SEC poll.
• This season, South Alabama will play three teams they have never played before — New Mexico, Towson and Hartford.
