TEMPE, Ariz. – University of South Alabama men's tennis player was named an ITA Scholar-Athlete Monday by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, while the team was one of 186 men's programs awarded the All-Academic honor by the organization.
In order to be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, student-athletes must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
For selection of the ITA All-Academic Team award, programs must meet the following requirements: have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale), all student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form and all varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.
Collard, who's 14 singles wins this season were tied for most on the club, earned the honor after recording a perfect 4.0 GPA, while the Jaguar men held a 3.3 GPA.
