NEW ORLEANS – Junior Morgan Cross was voted this week's Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week. This was the first time the Dunfermline, Scotland, native has been selected with the honor.

On Sunday, the left winger opened the scoring against Troy after running onto a through ball from graduate student Athanasia Moraitou, taking a touch and placing the ball past the keeper where the shot nestled in the right side-netting inches inside the goal post with three minutes and 38 seconds before the halftime intermission. With under 10 minutes left in the match, the junior struck for her second goal of the match when she pounced on a loose ball in the goal box and knocked it into the left side of the goal before any opponents could react to the shot.

With three goals and three assists in seven games, Cross is statistically having the best year of her career. She has started every game earning nine points which ranks second on the squad. The other goal she is responsible for was scored at Coastal Carolina (9/25) and she is one of two players in the Sun Belt Conference to score two goals in a single contest and have two assists in a single game this season.
