NEW ORLEANS – Following a seven-point weekend, University of South Alabama senior
Briana Morris was voted the Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday.
Morris wins the award for the first time in her career.
A native of Hoover, Ala., Morris scored three goals and added an assist in the Jaguars' 1-0-1 weekend. She extended her points streak to four games dating back to last season.
Against Tennessee Tech on Friday, she recorded the game-tying goal just before halftime in a 2-2 draw, then scored twice and added an assist on Sunday vs. Jackson State. The brace was a career first, and the five total points was a new personal best.
Morris took eight shots in two games and put five of them on goal.
The Jaguars open their home schedule this weekend with games vs. UAB on Friday and Stetson on Sunday.
