ESTERO, Fla. – The University of South Alabama men's basketball team will face Northeastern in the first round of the Gulf Coast Showcase, held Nov. 25-27 at Hertz Arena in Fort Myers, Fla.
The Huskies are one of two NCAA Tournament participants in the field, along with Murray State, who reached the second round. Two others – Drake and Wright State – also advanced to postseason play.
USA's home contest against Spring Hill on Nov. 19 is also considered part of the Gulf Coast Showcase.
Tip-off vs. Northeastern is scheduled for 10 a.m. CST. The winner will face either Drake or Miami (Ohio) on Nov. 26 at 4 p.m. CST, and the championship will be held Nov. 27 at 6:30 p.m. CST. Monday's loser will move on to the consolation bracket.
Northeastern went 23-11 overall and 12-6 in the Colonial Athletic Association last season, won the CAA Tournament, and earned a No. 13 seed in the NCAA Tournament before falling to Kansas.
Tickets for the 2019 Gulf Coast Showcase go on public sale on Monday, July 22 at HertzArena.com or through Ticketmaster. All-Tournament passes for either the men's tournament or women's tournament are available for $74, $99 or $149 per tournament with single session tickets ranging from $10 General Admission to $45 Courtside for each two-game session. Each day of the tournament will feature an afternoon session (starting at 11 a.m.) and evening session (5 p.m.) and tickets will be good for both games of a given session.
