KANSAS CITY, Mo. – University of South Alabama men's basketball's Herb McGee was tabbed to the National Association of Basketball Coaches' Honor Court, the organization announced today.

The Honors Court recognizes men's basketball student-athletes – juniors or seniors with at least a 3.2 grade point average – that excelled in the classroom during the 2018-19 season.

Last year McGee ranked fifth on the team in scoring with a career-high 10.0 points per game, and ranked 10th in the Sun Belt Conference in assist/turnover ratio (1.3) and 13th in assists (3.1 apg).

The Reserve, La., native hit double-digit points 14 times with three 20-point performances a season ago, including a career-best 26 at Georgia State. He dished out 11 assists vs. Southeast Missouri State – the most by a Jaguar since 2007-08 – and recorded his first double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds at Appalachian State.

McGee, a biology major, has a 3.257 GPA and is a member of the Sun Belt Commissioner's List (3.5-4.0 GPA) and Academic Honor Roll (3.0-3.49 GPA). In May 2018, he was named to the Sun Belt Ambassador program, which was established to enhance engagement and promotion of the Sun Belt and its member institutions through its student body, campus administrators, alumni and fans.
