NEW ORLEANS, La. — Loic Cloes was announced as the Sun Belt Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week on Wednesday, March 20. Cloes is the first University of South Alabama men's tennis player to win the award this season. 

Cloes went 2-0 in his singles matches this weekend playing South Florida on Friday and taking on North Florida on Saturday. Cloes defeated Pierre Luqet in straight sets on Friday afternoon and defeated Til Von Winning in three sets on Saturday afternoon in Jacksonville, Fla. 

In addition to his feats on the singles side, Cloes and his doubles partner, Clement Marzol, went 1-1 in their matches. The No. 35 ranked duo in the country bested South Florida's No. 77 ranked pair of Alberto Barroso-Camp, 6-4. 

Cloes is riding an eight-match win streak in singles and has beaten 10 of the last 11 opponents. He is 10-4 on the season in singles and 6-6 in doubles with Marzol as his partner.
