INDIANAPOLIS – The University of South Alabama soccer team will travel to Florida State for the first round of the NCAA Tournament, the Division I Women's Soccer Committee announced Monday afternoon.

Kickoff is set for Saturday at 5 p.m. CST. Broadcast and ticket information will be released by Florida State at a later time.
 
The Seminoles earned one of the four top seeds and enters the tournament with a 15-5 record.

"It's exciting just to be in the national tournament," USA head coach Richard Moodie said. "At this point in the year, you're against the elite, the best of the best. The current national champions – what better game? We've played them every year, why not again?"

South Alabama is making its sixth postseason appearance in the last seven years after winning another Sun Belt Conference Tournament title. The Jaguars claimed the crown after three wins by a combined score of 8-1, including a 5-1 victory Sunday over Arkansas State.

This season will mark the fourth NCAA meeting – and seventh overall – between the two schools since 2013. All three previous postseason contests were won by FSU by the same 5-0 score, although USA avenged the losses in 2016 with a 1-0 victory in Mobile.

"They're winners, they're champions," Moodie said. "They're stacked with lots of great players, but at the same time, we're a different team so it'll be interesting to see how we stand up to them.

"(We're under) zero pressure. We've had an amazing season so far and this is just icing on the cake. We're going to go in and enjoy it."
