NEW ORLEANS – Senior Briana Morris and sophomore Tilly Wilkes were named the Sun Belt Conference Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, Tuesday afternoon.

Morris earns the award for the third time this season, and Wilkes is player of the week for the second time.

A Hoover, Ala. native, Morris recorded three goals and added an assist in the Jaguars' road victories over Georgia Southern and Coastal Carolina. She assisted on the game winner just minutes into the contest Friday at Georgia Southern, then added the team's third and final goal later in the first half.

On Sunday, Morris scored the game-tying goal in the 67th minute, then with less than four minutes left in double overtime, notched the game winner. It was her fourth two-goal performance of the season, which is tied for third-most by a Jaguar in a season in the last 11 years.

She leads the Sun Belt in goals (12) and points (26), and is tied for the lead in game-winning goals (3).

Wilkes recorded a pair of assists and led a defense that posted a 0.92 goals against average in the two wins. The Jaguars recorded their eighth clean sheet of the season at Georgia Southern, with Wilkes providing an assist via set piece on USA's second goal.

Against Coastal Carolina, the Preston, England native assisted on South Alabama's game-tying goal in the 81st minute that sent the game into overtime.

Wilkes has a goal and four assists on the season.

South Alabama hosts Little Rock Sunday at 1 p.m.
