THEY SAID IT
Head Coach Nick Brochu
On the team's performance: "Today we tried some new doubles pairs. The guys game and energy were there today. We knew we were the favorites today, but our goal was to start very strong and not slow down. When you're up a set and winning relatively easy, it's easy to slow down and drop a set. Our goal was to stay strong form first ball to last ball and our guys did that. We won five singles matches in an hour and 15 minutes. Even though we were already up 6-0, it was good to see our captain Lucas [Gonzalez] fight and fight and not slow down even though he knew we won alreadt. He wanted to get that seventh point and I'm proud of him."
Â
Senior Olivier Gingras
On his performance: "It was nice. I saw the ball great. It was a little windy, but I stayed patient. I kept it going even when I lost a couple games and lost the momentum. I was happy to close out the match."
Â
On the win giving the team some momentum: "It was a confidence booster. Some of us were struggling, even me, and winning quick matches like this, 7-0, is a good stepping stone for the rest of our season."
