BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – University of South Alabama left-hander Andrew Fonzi was named to the Sun Belt Conference all-tournament team, as announced by the league office.
Fonzi (2-3) allowed just one run on three hits, and struck out four in 7 1/3 innings to lead the Jaguars to a 5-3 win over Western Kentucky on Thursday at Bowling Green Ballpark. He retired seven of the final eight Hilltoppers he faced in the game to earn his second consecutive win.
Fonzi was one of just two left-handers, and the only southpaw starter, to earn all-tournament honors.
