OPENING TIP
Ronnie Arrow
needs one win to tie Gene Bartow for the most Sun Belt wins in league history. Arrow is 110-84 in conference play in 14 seasons at South Alabama.

South Alabama needs one Sun Belt win to reach 300 in its history. The program is 299-235 all-time.

USA has recorded 10 steals twice in the last three games and eight or more in four of the team’s five outings. Junior Antoine Allen had four steals each vs. Tennessee State and Georgia State to move into a tie for fifth in the Sun Belt (2.4 spg).

Junior Augustine Rubit has scored 20 or more points over the last four games, the longest streak in his career. He tied his career high with 31 points at Georgia State—playing all 40 minutes—while shooting 13-for-18 from the floor. He has two straight double-doubles after scoring 20 points with 16 rebounds vs. Monmouth and 31 points, 11 boards vs. GSU. The 16 rebounds are tied for the fifth most in his career. Rubit also blocked five shots vs. Monmouth to tie his personal best.

Rubit went 5-for-6 at the foul line vs. GSU and is converting 88.2 percent from the stripe for the season, second in the Sun Belt. He missed his final attempt of the night, ending a streak of 22 consecutive makes. He needs 10 free throws to move into 10th place in school history for a career.

In four games vs. FAU, Rubit is averaging 13.5 points and 11.3 rebounds with two double-doubles. He has grabbed 10 or more rebounds in all four games.

Rubit leads the conference in scoring (20.8) and is fourth in rebounding (8.8) and blocks (2.2 bpg). He needs eight points to pass Domonic Tilford for 18th on USA’s career scoring list.

Junior Xavier Roberson has shot 4-for-9 from 3-point land in each of the last two games and has four treys in a game three times in his last four outings. He ranks seventh in the conference in 3-point percentage (46.7%) and third in 3-pointers per game (2.8). Roberson has also scored in double-digits four times in South Alabama’s five games this season.

Senior Javier Carter did not record a block vs. Georgia State to end his 10-game streak with at least one rejection. The team had three against the Panthers—two from Rubit and one from sophomore Mychal Ammons—and tops the Sun Belt in blocks per contest (5.6). Rubit has at least one block in every game this season, tied his career high with five vs. Monmouth and is fourth in the conference in blocks (2.2). Carter is tied for second (2.4).

After two double-doubles to open the 2012-13 season, Ammons has pulled down seven rebounds in each of his last three games. He is currently second in the SBC in rebounds per game (9.0). In two games vs. FAU last season, he averaged 22.0 points and 9.0 rebounds, including a career-high 26 points in an overtime victory in Boca Raton.
