MONTGOMERY, Ala. - South Alabama's Mitchell Heer earned Sun Belt Conference Championship All-Tournament Team honors announced by the conference office on Sunday.

Heer delivered seven innings of one-run ball when the Jaguars defeated Georgia State in game two of its tournament run on Thursday night. The contest was the second of the day for South Alabama when the tournament was restructured due to inclement weather.

The Acworth, Georgia native recorded seven of eight lead-off outs before exiting in the eighth inning and retired the Panther hitters in order four times, including striking out the side in the seventh frame.

The fifth year did not issue a walk alongside eight strikeouts, while allowing just six hits and one earned run. The start was his fifteenth of the season after making fourteen across the regular season all in series openers as the Friday night arm.

Heer is the first Jaguar to earn All-Tournament honors since 2021, when four Jags received the recognition and Miles Smith was named Most Outstanding Player after the team won the tournament and secured an automatic bid to the NCAA Gainesville Regional.
