MOBILE, Ala. — South Alabama Athletics mourns the loss of Jaguar baseball alumnus Hayden O'Dell, who pitched for the Jaguars last season after transferring from LSU New Orleans. The South Alabama Athletics family asks that everyone please keep the O'Dell family and Mobile community in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
O'Dell was from the Mobile area and graduated from St. Paul's Episcopal School in 2022. O'Dell started 10 games on the mound, all in midweek contests, and made two relief appearances, becoming a valuable part of South Alabama's pitching staff last season.

Head Coach Mark Calvi
"We mourn the loss of an incredible son, brother, and teammate. Hayden was a beautiful human being and a fierce competitor. He was a beloved member of the 2026 Jaguar baseball team and will forever be remembered for his charismatic personality, his love for his brothers and coaches, and his grace under pressure and competitive spirit. All our love goes out to the O'Dell family. Until we meet again, Hayden. You are loved and will be dearly missed."
