MOBILE, Ala. – South Alabama men's basketball head coach Richie Riley announced the signing of transfer forward Davaughn Hueitt to the Jaguar program for the 2026-27 season.
A 6-foot-9, 210-pound forward, Hueitt is coming off an exceptional freshman season at Hannibal-LaGrange (Mo.), where he averaged 15.6 points and 6.2 rebounds per game while shooting 45.8 percent from the field, 27.9 percent from three, and 78 percent from the free throw line across 30 appearances.
A dominant presence on the defensive end, Hueitt averaged 3.1 blocks per game, establishing himself as one of the top rim protectors in the conference.
Hueitt's dominance was recognized across the American Midwest Conference, where he earned Freshman of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year honors. He was also selected to the All-Conference First Team, All-Defensive Team, and All-Freshman Team, while earning Academic All-Conference distinction.
"Davaughn has as high of a ceiling as anyone we've ever recruited," head coach Richie Riley said. "His versatility on the offensive end and his impact as a shot blocker defensively give him tremendous upside. He comes from a great family, and we're thrilled to have him in our program."
Hueitt posted several standout performances during the season, including a 34-point, 12-rebound effort against Mission (Mo.), along with a 29-point outing versus Manhattan. He also recorded multiple double-digit rebounding games, highlighted by a season-high 13 boards.
Davaughn is the fifth addition to the Jags program this month, joining fellow transfers Diego Roman, Owen Kenney, Aaron Goldstein, and Jalen Langsy.
