TROY, Ala. / HATTIESBURG, Miss. – South Alabama Track & Field turned in a dominant weekend across split competition at the Doc Anderson Invitational and Southern Miss Invitational, collecting multiple event wins, meet records, and podium finishes.
At the Doc Anderson Invitational, the Jaguars were led by standout performances in the multi-events. Samuel Warriner captured the decathlon title with 7,012 points, using event wins in the 400m, 110m hurdles, and long jump to secure the victory. On the women's side, Calli Stokes earned a runner-up finish in the heptathlon with 5,100 points, highlighted by wins in the shot put and javelin.
South Alabama carried that momentum into Hattiesburg, where the Jaguars dominated the field events.
Samuel Mika headlined the weekend with a meet-record throw of 61.33m (201-02) to win the men's hammer, marking one of the top performances in the NCAA this season. Reuben Booysen followed with a runner-up finish, while Joshua Acker and Mose Piper added top-10 performances to give the Jaguars strong depth.
On the women's side, Iyana Johnson claimed the hammer throw title with a mark of 58.69m (192-06), while Flora Dupans added a third-place finish.
In the pole vault, Will Frederick cleared a meet-record 5.35m (17-6.5) to win the men's event, recording a personal best that ranks among the nation's top marks this season. Diana Goodman led a 1-2 finish in the women's pole vault with a meet-record clearance of 3.95m, followed by Caitlynn Morgan in second.
South Alabama continued its success in the javelin, as Karleigh Mills earned the victory on the women's side. Brody Hamilton posted a personal-best, meet-record throw of 57.90m to finish second in the men's competition, with Dylan Hale and Piper also placing inside the top four.
On the track, Jakayla Kirk posted a pair of strong performances, recording season bests in both the 200m and 400m. Olivia Bordes added a personal-best time in the 400m, while Ben Klapp led the men in the event with a season-best 50.03, followed closely by Tre Hill.
The Jaguars also saw solid depth in the distance events, led by Hannah Quick and Katie Giles, who both recorded top-16 finishes in the 1500m.
In the horizontal jumps, Carlder Datilus placed fourth in the triple jump, with Devin Dahunsi adding a top-eight finish.
