The Jaguars took the midweek from the Lions in their first meeting this season (Feb. 24) by a 9-7 final score in Hammond, La.
SERIES HISTORY
Wednesday night's match-up marks the 73rd game between South Alabama and Southeastern Louisiana in their history dating back to 1984. The Jaguars lead the all-time series 46-26, after they tacked on their 46th win over the Lions just a couple of weeks ago when the most recent meeting in Hammond was a 9-7 victory (Feb. 24). Since 2017, the Lions and Jags have met 11 times. SLU leads 6-5 over the Jags in that span. The Jaguars longest stretch of victory ran from 1990-93 winning 12 straight over the Lions.
SCOUTING THE LIONS
The 9-7 Lions have been hot since the Jaguars took the victory in Hammond on Feb. 24, and enter the Wednesday night match-up on a five game win streak and have won eight of their last nine. SLU opened Southland conference play taking two of three at Northwestern State before sweeping ULM in a back-to-back midweek and added another sweep in a three-game weekend set vs. Grambling State.

- South Alabama is coming off a 2-2 week where it run-ruled UAB in Montgomery on the Tuesday night midweek, and dropped the Saturday and Sunday games of the Louisiana Tech weekend series after a Friday night victory.
- The offense has been on fire with two away and are making it a trend. The offense is collectively hitting .309 in 178 at-bats with 49 RBI in two out situations, which is 46% of their RBI this season.
- Brennon Wright leads the SBC in three offensive categories: batting average (.475), hits (28), and on-base percentage (.581)
