South Alabama Set to Host Southeastern Louisiana in Midweek Contest

MOBILE, Ala. - South Alabama (11-5) to host Southeastern Louisiana (9-7) for the second time this season on Wednesday night at Stanky Field.

The Jaguars took the midweek from the Lions in their first meeting this season (Feb. 24) by a 9-7 final score in Hammond, La.

SERIES HISTORY
Wednesday night's match-up marks the 73rd game between South Alabama and Southeastern Louisiana in their history dating back to 1984. The Jaguars lead the all-time series 46-26, after they tacked on their 46th win over the Lions just a couple of weeks ago when the most recent meeting in Hammond was a 9-7 victory (Feb. 24). Since 2017, the Lions and Jags have met 11 times. SLU leads 6-5 over the Jags in that span. The Jaguars longest stretch of victory ran from 1990-93 winning 12 straight over the Lions.

SCOUTING THE LIONS
The 9-7 Lions have been hot since the Jaguars took the victory in Hammond on Feb. 24, and enter the Wednesday night match-up on a five game win streak and have won eight of their last nine. SLU opened Southland conference play taking two of three at Northwestern State before sweeping ULM in a back-to-back midweek and added another sweep in a three-game weekend set vs. Grambling State.
