MOBILE, Ala. - The West Georgia Wolves (1-8) are set to spend the weekend at Stanky Field, in a three-game series with South Alabama (6-3).
Friday night's first pitch in the series opener is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Saturday's game is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., while the series finale is slated for 1:00 p.m.
SERIES HISTORY
The two programs have never met in their history. The 2026 season marks the Wolves second year as a Division I program, making the transition from Division II in June, 2024.
SCOUTING THE WOLVES
An eight-game losing skid brings West Georgia to Stanky Field. The program kicked off the season at home in a four-game set against Central Michigan, where they dropped the series 1-3. Last weekend saw a trip to Little Rock where they were swept in the three-game set. The Wolves arrive in Mobile after a tough midweek fight to No. 7 Auburn (3-4 final score) in the midst of a 13-game road stretch.

PRIMARY THREADS
- After a victory over SLU and a setback against Tulane in back-to-back midweek contests (Tuesday & Wednesday), the Jags look to bounce back and get it done vs. an unfamiliar foe in West Georgia.
- The offense has been on fire with two away and are making it a trend. The offense is collectively hitting .321 with 32 RBI in two out situations, as opposed to 10 RBI with less than two outs. In situations with a runner on third and two outs, the Jags are hitting a surging .370.
- The homer category currently places the Jags second in the Sun Belt with 12 (as of 2/26).
- Situational and timely hitting has been effective in the early going, where we've seen four sacrifice fly's and four sac bunts as a team. Brennon Wright leads the sticks in hits (14) and batting average (.424) and Stewart Puckett leads the way in the RBI category (10) with the help of two homers.
