MOBILE -- South Alabama sophomore Jules Caby has been selected to represent the Sun Belt Conference at the ITA Masters in Rome, Ga. The event will be held at the Rome Tennis Center from Nov. 5-8.

The ITA Masters features a men's and women's draw with singles and doubles play. Each draw has one conference representative, as well as five lottery selections from various conferences. The four semifinalists from the event will automatically qualify for the NCAA Championships. The MAC, American, MEAC, SEC, and A-10 are the only conferences with two representatives -- the second was selected through the lottery.

Caby will open the Round of 32 against Nikola Puntaric from UIC at 9 a.m. on Thursday. Caby has gone 6-4 in singles action through the three fall events he has appeared in. He went 3-1 in his last outing, earning a spot in the main draw at the ITA Southern Regionals. Caby cruised to an opening round win and then won in three sets in his first main draw event. Caby then toppled an Ole Miss player to reach the Round of 16, where he ultimately dropped a two-set match.
