Last Time Out

The Jaguars opened the indoor season with impressive finishes at the Samford Invitational and Samford Clash, producing multiple event victories, podium finishes, and several marks that landed among the program's all-time bests.

South Alabama's jumps group made an immediate impact in the season opener, led by Devin Dahunsi, who claimed the triple jump title with a leap of 15.36 meters—the second-best indoor mark in program history. Kayden Engel continued the Jaguars' success in the vertical jumps, winning the high jump at 1.76 meters, while Aubrey Evans added a podium finish.

The Jaguars' multi-event athletes also set the tone early. On the women's side, Calli Stokes opened her indoor campaign by winning the pentathlon with 3,460 points. Samuel Warriner followed with a dominant showing in the men's heptathlon, totaling 5,216 points to rank third all-time in South Alabama indoor history. Both will look to build on those performances as the indoor season progresses.

Samuel Mika captured the weight throw title at Samford with a mark of 18.98 meters, the second-best indoor performance in program history, while Bobby Gray followed closely with an 18.15-meter throw that ranks sixth all-time for the Jaguars. On the women's side, Iyana Johnson and Flora Dupans each delivered podium finishes across the throws and jumps, providing valuable early-season consistency.

The distance group also showed promise to open the year, highlighted by Brady Keller's victory in the men's mile and a runner-up finish in the 3,000 meters. Jordan Morrison added a top-four finish in the 800 meters as South Alabama continues to develop depth on the track.
