Last Time Out
- Trailing by four with under a minute remaining, South Alabama forced overtime and edged Arkansas State, 91–87, Thursday night in front of a raucous crowd at the Mitchell Center.
- Chaze Harris poured in a season-high and career-high matching 38 points, shooting 14-of-25 from the field and 10-of-15 from the free-throw line, while adding six rebounds and five assists in 40 minutes.
- With 28 seconds remaining in regulation, Randy Brady stepped in to draw a critical offensive charge, immediately shifting momentum back to the Jaguars. After Arkansas State converted two free throws to regain a three-point lead, Brady secured an offensive rebound on the ensuing possession and kicked the ball out to Adam Olsen, who buried the game-tying three with 1.7 seconds left on the clock.
- Arkansas State nearly won it at the buzzer, but its desperation attempt hit the backboard and rimmed out, sending the game to overtime tied at 81–81.
- In the extra period, the teams traded baskets early before Harris attacked the paint for a go-ahead layup with 1:42 remaining, giving South Alabama the lead for good. Harris added a free throw with 28 seconds left to extend the margin, and the Jaguars followed with consecutive defensive stops. Olsen iced the game at the free-throw line with 9.1 seconds remaining as South Alabama closed overtime on a 6–0 run.
Scouting the Ragin' Cajuns
- After picking up its second conference win a week ago, Louisiana has dropped its last two contests against Troy and Texas State.
- Dorian Finister continues to lead the Cajuns, averaging 14.0 points and five rebounds per game. Louisiana has struggled offensively this season, averaging 60.0 points per game while shooting 39.7 percent from the field.
- In the earlier meeting this season, Jaxon Olvera led Louisiana with 18 points, knocking down five three-pointers.

- South Alabama defeated Louisiana on New Year's Eve earlier this season in a defensive battle at the Cajundome, earning a 63–58 victory. Adam Olsen led the Jaguars with 26 points, including a perfect 10-for-10 performance from the free-throw line.

Over his last five outings, Harris is averaging 20.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 4.0 assists, shooting 53.0 percent from the field.
