MOBILE, Ala. - South Alabama (19-26, 8-16 SBC) will face App State (21-26, 11-13 SBC) for their final home series of the season to stay in the race for a conference playoff berth.

The Jags are coming off a series loss to No. 20 Troy, and a midweek win against Nicholls before.

SERIES HISTORY
South Alabama holds a 17-8 record all-time against the Mountaineers. 1973 was the first meeting between the Jags and App State, with the Mountaineers eliminating the Jags from the District 3 Regional, 2-1. The other 24 matchups have occurred since 2015. The last meeting took place in Boone in 2024, with a Friday night win for the Jaguars followed buy a Sunday Doubleheader that went the way of the Mountaineers for the series. 2022 was the last time App State has made the trip to Mobile, where South took the series in a sweep, by a combined score of 24-2.

SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS
Appalachian State enters the series on a nine game skid. The Mountaineers have lost midweek games to ETSU and Wake Forest, while also getting swept by No. 22 Southern Miss and No. 19 Coastal Carolina. Earlier in the season App State suffered a sweep from Georgia Southern, while sweeping Texas State, and taking weekends over Old Dominion, Marshall, ULM, and JMU.
