MOBILE, Ala. - South Alabama (18-24, 7-14 SBC) will host their second to last home series of the season against #20 Troy (32-14, 14-7).
South Alabama comes off a 2-0 shutout win over Nicholls, only allowing five hits with 12 strikeouts, led by right-handed slinger
Dalton Brooks. Last weekend the Jags visited Marshall, with a 0-3 weekend after Friday's game was moved to a Saturday doubleheader.
SERIES HISTORY
The Jaguars and Trojans have met 102 times, the seventh most played opponent on South Alabama history. USA holds the all-time record, 57-45. Over the last five years, the in-state rivals have met 12 times, with nine of the games going in the favor of South Alabama. The last time Troy played in Mobile was 2023, with South taking games one and three in the series. Under skipper

SCOUTING THE TROJANS
Troy has won every series they've played, with non-conference sweeps of Bellarmine, Northwestern State, and Penn. While the Trojans haven't swept anyone in conference play, their 14-7 conference record shows they have gone 2-1 each weekend, with a mainstay of winning each of the game twos in the series. Over the last week, Troy took the first two games over Texas State, then was run-ruled by the Bobcats in the final game. The midweek game leading up to this weekend for Troy was a seven-inning 12-2 home victory over Jacksonville State.
