Jags to Honor Montoya Prior to Season Finale Against Panthers

MOBILE, Ala. – The South Alabama Men's Tennis team will conclude its regular season at home versus Georgia State on Sunday, April 13.

The Jaguars are coming to the end of the year with a record of 8-11 (4-2 in conference play). Having won four out of its last-five matches, South Alabama is carrying a lot of momentum as it approaches the end of the season. 
  
South Alabama and Georgia State have matched up very evenly the last 19 years with the Jaguars slightly edging out the Panthers 10-9 in the series. This will be the sixth opponent out of the Jaguars' last-seven matches that they have a winning record against all time. 
  
Senior Javier Montoya will be playing in his last home match at the Bruce David Lubel Memorial Tennis Courts for the Jaguars this Sunday. Montoya has been a leader for the Jags this season playing all matches in the number one spot and achieving a winning record of 7-6 to this point. Javier Montoya and Braden Hannig have worked well as a doubles squad most of the season recording a record of 7-6 as well.
