Box Score BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – South Alabama Men's Tennis dropped its second-straight match Monday afternoon after falling to UAB, 4-3.
The Jaguars' record fell to 2-3 for the year with the defeat.
"It was a better effort than yesterday, but still not enough," said head coach Nick Brochu. "We've got to be able to come together all at once. We've got to raise the bar, and it will start at practice for us. It's got to be more like a match with more intensity and more pressure."
After losing the doubles point, South Alabama moved to singles play where it pushed the Blazers and made them earn the victory.
Harold van Raemdonck turned in a strong performace by defeating his UAB opponent 6-1, 6-0.
Juan Accossatto also earned a victory in three-set fashion by a score of 4-6, 6-4, 6-4. Similar to Accossatto,
Braden Hannig found himself in a three-set battle, but his opponent had to retire, giving him the victory.
The Jags will now return home for a pair of matches after four-straight on the road. USA will host Alabama State on Friday, Feb. 7 at 2 p.m. and Jacksonville State on Sunday, Feb. 9 at 10 a.m.
