AUBURN, Ala. – South Alabama Men's Tennis fought hard in its second fall tournament of the season at Auburn's Battle on the Plains.
KEY SINGLES PERFORMER
- Harold van Raemdonck ran his way through the draw with several dominant singles performances. The Belgium native started by beating Georgia Southern's Gregoire Delattre 5-7, 7-5, 6-0. Next, he took down Johnathan Irwanto from Georgia Tech 7-5, 7-6 (5). van Raemdonck then advanced to beat Matteo Lataste from Alabama State 6-2, 1-6, 6-4. He narrowly fell in his final match 2-6, 6-2, 2-6.
KEY DOUBLES PERFORMERS
- Juan Accossatto and Jules Caby picked up a first-round win in the blue draw by defeating UAB 7-6 (4). The duo finished the tournament by knocking off Clemson's Nittmann and Pitts by a score of 6-4.
- Victor Frumholz and Adam Bouyacoub also earned a first-round victory on a score of 6-1 against Lipscomb.

"I think the guys are improving. The team is more competitive every week. The good thing is we had some guys who did not play well at all, but still were able to compete and come up on top getting some wins. It's always good to see that whether they're playing good or bad, they're still putting up a fight."

UP NEXT
South Alabama will now prepare for its biggest tournament of the fall at ITA Regionals. Regionals will take place in Tuscaloosa, Ala. and run Thursday, Oct. 9 through Sunday Oct. 12.
