BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Juan Accossatto won the singles championship in his draw to lead South Alabama Men's Tennis at the Country Club of Birmingham Collegiate Invitational.  
 
Adam Bouyacoub and Deren Yigin also advanced to the semifinal rounds of their respective singles draws over the weekend, while Jules Caby and Bouyacoub made a run to the finals in their doubles draw as well.
 
"It was another great weekend for the Jags. This weekend was on clay, so the guys had to adjust a little bit," said head coach Nick Brochu. "I think the guys did a good job. The highlight of the weekend was for sure Juan. For the second year in a row, he went over there and went undefeated. Winning back-to-back tournaments in Birmingham is quite a success. He really dominated. He told me before the tournament his goal was to go back-to-back, and from the first match he was really dominant. He truly deserves that title. The other guys played some great tennis as well. We're just working on being a little more steady and not being up and down from match to match. Overall, it was good. I was very proud of Juan, not only for winning the tournament, but for showing some leadership. He has matured into a great captain."
