MOBILE, Ala. – South Alabama Athletics has announced staff promotions and restructuring to the administrative team for both its internal and external units.
Ty Singletary has been promoted to the position of associate athletic director for compliance and cap management. Singletary, a Mobile native, joined South Alabama as assistant athletic director for compliance in 2022. In his new role, he will be responsible for overseeing adherence to regulatory changes resulting from the house settlement, including managing benefit limits and third-party NIL deal reporting for Jaguar student-athletes.
Summer Stover has also been promoted to the position of assistant athletic director for student-athlete academic services. Stover is in her second stint with the Jaguars after returning to the department in 2021. She will oversee the day-to-day operations of the student-athlete academic services team, which includes
Matt Cologgi being promoted to the position of athletic counselor II and
Josh Jones being promoted to the position of assistant director of student-athlete success & development.
"We are proud to recognize Ty, Summer, Josh and Matt for their hard work and commitment to our student-athletes," said senior associate athletic director for internal operations,
Jason Kelly. "Each of them has demonstrated exceptional leadership in their respective areas, and these promotions reflect the positive impact they have made within our department and across campus."
On the external side, South Alabama has created a new broadcast operations division which will be led by
Pat Greenwood. Greenwood, who has been with the department since 2014, has been promoted to serve as assistant athletic director for broadcast operations.
JT Crabtree, the radio voice of the Jags, has also been promoted to the position of director of broadcasting.
South Alabama's creative services team will now be led by
Tyler Roper, who serves as associate athletic director for communications & creative strategy. Roper joined the Jaguars in 2023 as associate athletic director for strategic communications.
"Pat and JT have done excellent work elevating our broadcast quality and capabilities, which makes their promotions well-deserved," said deputy athletic director Daniel McCarthy. "The creation of a more narrowly-focused broadcast operations division will allow them and the rest of their team to focus exclusively on delivering first-class broadcast content to Jaguar fans across the country. Closely related is our creative services team, which will now operate under the same umbrella as our strategic communications staff. This will streamline efficiency and allow the two groups to work closer than before and deliver even more high-quality content to our fans and followers."
