MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Three Jaguars Track and Field athletes had impressive outings at Minnesota's Jack Johnson Classic Saturday evening.
Transfer Flora Dupans had another dominant weekend for the Jaguar women, earning two new personal bests in the weight throw and shot put. Dupans etched her name into the Jaguar record books again by squashing her personal best in the shot put with a toss of 14.95 meters (49 '0.75"), which ranks her fifth all-time in South Alabama history while also taking second place. After her debut in the weight throw last weekend, Dupans crushed her PR (14.86 meters), recording a throw of 15.22 meters (49 '11.25") to take 11th place.
Following a Sun Belt Athlete of the Week accolade, Sebastian Loschner logged a new personal best in the weight throw with a heave of 17.36 meters (56'11.5"), taking seventh place overall in the competition. He also took second place in the shot put with a throw of 17.56 meters (57'7.5").
Samuel Mika earned a substantial new personal record in the weight throw. Mika hurled a throw of 18.06 meters (59'3") to secure fourth place in the competition, crushing his previous PR by nearly three feet.
