MOBILE, Ala. — The Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation and the Biletnikoff Foundation released the prestigious Biletnikoff Award Preseason Watch List with South Alabama Football's Jamaal Pritchett among 49 receivers recognized.
The Biletnikoff Award annually recognizes the college football's outstanding FBS receiver. Any player, regardless of position (wide receiver, tight end, slot back, and running back), who catches a pass is eligible for the award. As such, the Biletnikoff Award recognizes the most outstanding receiver, not merely the most outstanding wide receiver.
Players from nine conferences and one independent university are represented on this list. The preseason watch list is selected by a screening committee whose members compile a list of up to 50 players based on previous performance in NCAA Division I college football and preseason All-America lists.
Pritchett's spot on the Biletnikoff Award Watch List is his third preseason award of the off-season, including First-team Athlon Sports All-Sun Belt honors and Preseason Second-team All-Sun Belt offense released earlier this off-season. Pritchett had a breakout season last year for the Jaguars, recording 57 receptions for 883 yards and eight touchdowns to earn All-Sun Belt Honorable Mention honors.
The Biletnikoff Award is a member of the National College Football Awards Association. Founded in 1997, the NCFAA includes college football's most prestigious awards, and its 24 awards have honored more than 900 recipients since 1935.
