Kentrel Bullock set the new single-season rushing yards record for South Alabama Football as the Jaguars fell to Texas State, 49-26, in the season finale Saturday at UFCU Stadium.
The Jaguars finished the 2025 season with an overall record of 4-8, including a 3-5 mark in Sun Belt Conference play.
KEY MOMENTS
- After Texas State jumped out to a 10-0 lead, the Jaguars responded with an eight-play, 75-yard touchdown drive. Kentrel Bullock capped the drive with a one-yard rushing touchdown.
- The Bobcats scored 11-straight to end the first half and take a 21-7 lead into the locker room.
- Texas State's lead swelled to 42-7 until Keenan Phillips scored on a one-yard touchdown run midway through the fourth quarter.
- Two young Jaguars scored late in the fourth quarter to add a few more points to the scoreboard for South. Trae'von Dunbar ripped off a 34-yard rushing touchdown, and then Jared Hollins his Jeremy Scott on a 35-yard touchdown.

- Texas State outgained South Alabama 544-364 on the afternoon.
- The Jaguars could only manage 156 passing yards on the day, putting extra strain on the run game.
- Texas State outscored South Alabama in the red zone by a count of 27-14.
NOTABLE
- Bullock finished the game with 84 rushing yards to give him 1,085 on the season. He surpassed La'Damian Webb's 1,063 yards during the 2022 season.
- Bullock's first-quarter rushing touchdown moved him into second-place in single season rushing touchdowns at South Alabama with 14.
- Long snapper Anthony Zacarro recorded the first fumble recovery of his career right before halftime when the Bobcats muffed a return and he jumped on the loose ball.
- Dunbar's touchdown run was the first of his collegiate career.
- Hollins' touchdown throw to Scott was the first of his collegiate career.

Saturday's game marked the end of the 2025 season for the Jaguars. South Alabama is currently scheduled to open the 2026 season against Southeastern Louisiana on Saturday, Sept. 5 at Hancock Whitney Stadium.
