Jaguar soccer announces 2024 schedule

MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama soccer team and first-year head coach Chris Hennessey announced the 2024 schedule on Wednesday, which includes three SEC opponents and nine home contests at The Cage.
 
The Jags will start the fall slate with one exhibition match, traveling to in-state opponent Samford on Aug. 6.
 
The Hennessey era of Jaguar Soccer will officially start on Thursday, Aug. 15, as the Jags welcome LSU to The Cage. South stays at home through the weekend, hosting Mississippi Valley on August 18.
 
The Jaguars road slate will begin in Louisiana, with South traveling to LA Tech on Aug. 22 and Southeastern Louisiana on Aug. 25.
 
South then has back-to-back SEC match-ups, hosting Auburn at The Cage on Aug. 29 before traveling to Starkville for a match-up against the Mississippi State Bulldogs on Sept. 1.
 
South Alabama's final home non-conference game will be a match against Lamar on Sept. 5, and the Jags will finish their non-conference slate with a pair of road matches at Tennessee Tech (Sept. 8) and Middle Tennessee State (Sept. 12).
 
The Jaguars' Sun Belt Conference slate starts in Jonesboro, where the Jags will face Arkansas State on Sept. 20, before returning to Mobile to host Southern Miss on Sept. 26.
 
South Alabama hits the road again for a match at Georgia State on Sept. 29 and will return to Mobile to host back-to-back Sun Belt Tournament Champions Old Dominion on Oct. 4.
 
The Jaguars will face Louisiana on the road on Oct. 10 before hosting in-state rival Troy on Oct. 13.
 
South's final road trip of the season will take them to Georgia Southern (Oct. 18) and Texas State (Oct. 24).
 
The Jags wrap up regular season play at The Cage, hosting ULM (Oct. 27) and James Madison (Oct. 30).
 
Postseason play will take place in Foley, Ala., with the 2024 Sun Belt Women's Soccer Championship starting on Monday, Nov. 4.
 
All home matches will be held at The Cage and admission is free.
