The Jags enter the weekend with a record of 7-9. South is 2-3 since opening Sun Belt Conference play, and is coming off a 4-1 defeat at in-state rival Troy.
 
The series between South Alabama and Georgia State has been tightly contested over the years with the Panthers owning a narrow, 8-7 lead all time. The two schools last met a season ago in Mobile where the Jaguars secured a 5-2 victory. Georgia State won the last meeting between the two sides to take place in Atlanta in 2022. The Panthers enter Saturday's match with an overall record of 6-12 and a 1-3 mark in Sun Belt play.
 
South has been historically dominant over Georgia Southern with a perfect 8-0 record against the Eagles. The last matchup between the two schools was last year, and the Jaguars defended their home court in a 6-1 fashion. Georgia Southern is currently 10-7 on the year with a perfect 4-0 mark in league play. The Eagles will host Troy on Saturday before matching up against South on Sunday.
