Tulane Game Preview

MOBILE, Ala. - The Jaguars travel to New Orleans for the second time this season for a midweek contest against Tulane.

Both sides will enter the game with the same record, 20-16, with Tulane coming off a series win over South Florida, winning Friday and Saturday but failing to secure the sweep. Amongst shared opponents, the Green Wave is 4-2, with two wins each coming from Nicholls and New Orleans, and losses to Southern Miss and Southeastern Louisiana. Aside from USM, the only other Sun Belt school on Tulane's schedule was Louisiana, in which Louisiana took the series in the last two wins.

SERIES HISTORY
Although having a long history with each other, South Alabama and Tulane have only played 52 times, with USA holding the overall record by a slim 28-24 record. The last time these two teams squared off was last season when the Jags visited New Orleans and took an 11-7 win early in the season. In 2022, the teams played in a home-and-home challenge, with the Jags taking the home win, 8-1, and dropping the road contest, 11-7. The first meetings between the two sides came in South Alabama's second season, in 1966, which saw Tulane take bot games. As a part of postseason play, the Green Wave has seen more success, winning a 12 inning battle in the 1992 Baton Rouge Regional, eliminating South in the 2000 Regional in Starkville, and eliminating South in the 2006 Regional in Oxford, 18-11, after the Jags took the opening game of the postseason, 7-1.
