Series Preview: Georgia State

MOBILE, Ala. - South Alabama prepares to take on their first conference opponent of the season in Georgia State.

The 9-8 Panthers are entering conference play off a three game skid from a doubleheader loss to Army, and a 4-3 loss to #20 South Carolina. In common opponents, the Panthers are 1-2 against New Orleans, whom they faced on opening weekend. Historically, South Alabama has been dominant over Georgia State with a 30-9 overall record. The Jags' first game against the Panthers was in 1979, where USA went 2-0 in a home and home series. Last season, South went 2-1 against GSU, which was the last time the Panthers played at Stanky Field.
